1. Scope of this policy
This policy describes data processing by the Life for God project at lifeforgod.church when you read books, use your account, Companion or Workshop, contact the editors, participate in the community or pay. Contact us about data through the editorial contact form.
You can read the library without an account. Registration does not require email. Optional fields may be left blank. We do not sell personal information or use it for personalised advertising.
2. Information we receive
Account: username, protected derivatives of your passphrase and recovery code, session information, preferences and optional profile details. Passphrases and recovery codes are not stored in plain text.
Personal work: saved notes, highlights, bookmarks, collections, conversations, reading position and preferences; in Workshop, texts, revisions, AI work history and saved audio recordings. Microphone access requires a recording-related action and browser permission.
Contact and community: form text, the name and contact details you provide, application information, correspondence with editors and selected participant-profile details. Contact-form messages are retained in the editorial mailbox.
Payments and gifts: order, payment or subscription identifiers, amount, currency, status, time, account association, confirmation of the selected conditions, credits and reversals. Gifts also store the names and greeting you enter. We do not store full card details or your PayPal password on our site.
Technical information: site requests, IP address, browser and device information, time, security events, usage counters and errors. Cloudflare processes network information to deliver and protect the site. Application-level rate limits also use hashed connection identifiers; this does not make all technical information fully anonymous.
3. Why we use information
We use information to sign you in and recover access, synchronise your work, generate AI responses, provide paid features, track limits, operate gifts and publication, respond to messages, prevent misuse and fix errors.
Processing supports the service you request, security and applicable legal obligations. Optional public publication uses separate permission. Where the law requires consent for a particular use, it must be obtained separately; this policy is not consent to every form of processing.
Texts about faith, denomination details, sermons and personal conversations may reveal religious beliefs or other sensitive information. Provide optional information thoughtfully and only as needed. Do not submit other people's personal or confidential information without a proper basis.
4. AI requests
Companion receives your question, the necessary part of the current conversation and context for the selected book or Scripture passage. Workshop AI receives the text, settings and work context needed for the action you select. Processing uses Cloudflare Workers AI.
Under the Workers AI data rules, Cloudflare does not use inputs or outputs to train models. Ordinary requests are processed for their execution, subject to security and legal exceptions. This does not remove the separate storage of work in your account.
An ordinary Companion conversation stays in the current window until you choose to save it. Once saving is enabled, it is recorded in your account and updated as you continue. Paid-question accounting stores technical details and a request fingerprint, rather than question and answer text. Workshop drafts and work history are stored as part of its features.
5. Who may process information
Cloudflare provides hosting, databases and files, AI, Turnstile protection and message delivery. PayPal processes payments under its own rules. The editorial mailbox uses Microsoft infrastructure. Embedded YouTube / Google video may send the provider your IP address and browser information when its player loads, before playback begins.
Editors and technical service providers may access information as needed for support, reviewing messages, publishing selected submissions and security. We do not promise that technical access to stored information is impossible. Information may be disclosed to meet a lawful requirement or protect rights and safety to the extent allowed by law.
Provider policies: Cloudflare, PayPal, Microsoft, Google. Their infrastructure may operate in different countries. We do not promise exclusive storage in your country; where special transfer requirements apply, the relevant safeguards must be followed.
6. Public information
Account notes and drafts are not published automatically. Publishing submitted texts, recordings or participant information requires a separate action and permission. Published material can be read, copied and indexed by search engines.
A gift code or link provides access to the certificate, its names and greeting, and may allow the gift to be claimed. Share it only with the intended recipient and keep it out of public posts.
7. Cookies and browser storage
Sign-in uses a secure session cookie lasting up to 30 days. Your browser may also store language, reading preferences, interface state and checkout state. This helps retain choices and avoid creating duplicate purchases when you return from payment.
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. This may sign you out and remove local preferences or unfinished checkout state. Clearing browser data does not delete work already saved in your account.
Cloudflare Turnstile, PayPal and YouTube may use their own storage and identification technologies. The site does not use advertising trackers to display personalised ads. The site has no separate automated response to Do Not Track signals; external providers may collect information about interactions with their services under their own policies.
8. Retention and deletion
Account materials are kept while needed for your work and the service. Moving a note or conversation to the trash hides it from the main collection but allows restoration: it is not permanent database deletion. Clearing reading history does not delete notes or highlights. Contact the editors to request permanent deletion of materials or an account.
Sessions last up to 30 days. Temporary contact-form security records are designed to last about two days; counters and technical records have their own operational cleanup periods. Payment information, remaining paid entitlements and records needed to resolve disputed transactions may be kept longer while necessary for obligations, security and applicable law.
Editorial emails and backups are not deleted at the same time as an interface record. For a deletion request, we will review associated storage and explain what can be removed, what must temporarily remain and why. We do not promise instantaneous deletion from every backup.
9. Your choices and requests
Your account lets you edit available profile details, remove records from the working collection and export materials using the available tools. Through the contact form, you may request information about processing, correction, a copy, permanent deletion, withdrawal of publication permission or other actions provided by your law. Use the subject “Personal data” and include your username if applicable and an email for a reply.
We may request reasonable proof of account ownership, but never your passphrase, recovery code or full card number. Timing and scope depend on applicable law and any need to retain particular records. We will explain a refusal or limitation. Any applicable right to complain to a supervisory authority remains available; exercising lawful rights should not result in discrimination.
The service is not intended to collect information from children under 13. If such information has been submitted, tell the editors so it can be reviewed and deleted where required. We use access controls and secure connections, but cannot guarantee absolute security of transmission or storage.
10. Policy updates
The revision date is shown at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced on the site; where fresh consent is needed, we will request it separately. Send policy questions to Life for God.
